Started in 2016 at Double J Horse Ranch in Whitesboro, Texas, the No Bad Days Steer Wrestling Jackpot is an annual event that all Steer Wrestlers and fans can look forward to. Great prizes, plus a wonderful facility filled with great friends, plus an opportunity to not only have a good time but also win some prizes and money! The 2018 event has been joined by 12 Gauge Ranch who will be handling a large portion of the coordination and management.  Double J Ranch is thrilled to be partnering with 12 Gauge Ranch for this event!

2017 offered even more in cash & prizes -- $40,000+ -- in fact!  
We plan to make 2018 event even better and more exciting with great awards, payouts and a great competition in both Barrel Racing and Steer Wrestling.

An exciting part of the 2018 event will be a Gala Party on Saturday evening.  We look forward to seeing you all there.

We look forward to seeing you at this years Jackpots and Clinics. We have limited stalls available, but offer trailer parking with generator and tie out. Proof of negative Coggins is required for all horses entering the property.

How We Got Our Start

Jon Carpenter and JJ Carpenter have been long time fixtures in the horse world. From showing in AQHA, APHA, PHBA and Rodeoing, the couple have pretty much done it all.  Jon and JJ are the driving force behind the No Bad Days Steer Wrestling Jackpot.

Jon began riding in chlidhood, but has been actively competing since 1997.  Initially Jon competed in Team Roping, Calf Roping and Steer Wrestling as a teenager in High School Rodeo where he earned: 
  • 1999 Arkansas Teenage rodeo Association all around champion 
  • 1999 Arkansas high school rodeo state champion 
  • 1999 two time national high school final rodeo qualifier with top 5 finishes

Later in his career Jon focused on additional events and has earned: 
  • Multiple PHBA World Champion titles in: Heading, Heeling, Calf Roping, Working Cowhorse, Break away (2007-present)
  • 2008 PtHA World Champion in Heading
  • 2008 AQHA World Show Qualifier in the cattle events
  • Multiple PRCA money/timed event wins in Heading, Heeling and Steer Wrestling (1999 - present)

JJ has multiple PHBA, APHA & AQHA World titles to her name in everything from Halter through Performance.  She has been riding horses and competing since childhood and now focuses her energies on running the Double J Ranch operation raising kids, horses and steer.
